Helping you at a difficult time
Dealing with someone's
affairs after their death can be distressing and complicated too, particularly
if no will was left or if tax is payable as a result. We are very experienced at
dealing with winding up estates and can help in a practical and sympathetic way
with all the legal necessities.
We can work with the
deceased person's Personal Representatives (called 'Executors' if they made a
will) in calling in all the assets for distribution and deal with obtaining the
Grant from the Probate Registry if required. We will also prepare detailed
accounts showing exactly what assets there were and how the proceeds should be
distributed, along with dealing with the Inland Revenue if an Inheritance Tax
Return is needed.
Some Personal
Representatives will want to be involved in the day to day administration and
wish to do most of the work themselves. Others prefer to let us carry out all of
this routine work and we are quite happy to go with their wishes, whichever
approach is preferred.
Fees for our Probate service
are calculated with regard to the time spent and work done, as well as to the
overall size of the estate being dealt with. If you have any further queries
